예수님이 주신 '영원한 생명'은 무엇입니까? 하나님에 대한 지식입니다. What is the 'eternal life' that Jesus gives? Knowledge of God.
'영생은 곧 유일하신 참 하나님과 그가 보내신 자 예수 그리스도를 아는 것이니이다’ (요 17:3) 'This is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent (John 17:3).'
인생에서 무엇보다도 많은 기쁨, 즐거움, 만족감을 가져다주는 가장 좋은 것은 무엇입니까? 하나님에 대한 지식입니다. What is the best thing in life, bringing more joy, delight, and contentment, than anything else? Knowledge of God.
'여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 지혜로운 자는 그의 지혜를 자랑하지 말라 용사는 그의 용맹을 자랑하지 말라 부자는 그의 부함을 자랑하지 말라 자랑하는 자는 이것으로 자랑할지니 곧 명철하여 나를 아는 것과 나 여호와는 사랑과 정의와 공의를 땅에 행하는 자인 줄 깨닫는 것이라 나는 이 일을 기뻐하노라 여호와의 말씀이니라' (렘 9:23-24) 'Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me (Jer. 9:23f).'
하나님은 모든 상황 가운데 우리를 지켜보고 계시는데, 우리의 무엇이 하나님을 가장 기쁘시게 합니까? 하나님, 그분에 대한 지식입니다. What, of all the states God ever sees man in, gives Him most pleasure? Knowledge of Himself.
'나는 인애를 원하고 제사를 원하지 아니하며 번제보다 하나님을 아는 것을 원하노라' (호 6:6) 'I desire ... the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings,' says God (Hos. 6:6).
